Lorna Adams RVN
Lorna knew that she wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse from a young age after accompanying her parents to the local vet with their pet cats. After finishing school, she spent a term at Kingston Maurward College on an animal care course until her work experience placement offered her a role as a Trainee Vet Nurse.
Lorna qualified in 2002 and has worked in many different veterinary settings over the years including charity, emergency and critical care, locum work and export for travel. First opinion practice is where her heart truly belongs and before moving to Dumbledore Vets, she worked in a local practice for 13 years which is where she met, and loved working with, Katy.
Although Lorna loves every aspect of her profession, her passion is wound management and minor surgery. Lorna has led several intensive wound cases to final healing and loves nothing more than flexing her surgical skills.
Lorna also loves to teach and was lucky to have Ella as her student whom she coached throughout her training - Ella was a model student and Lorna was beyond proud to see her graduate and become a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse.
At home Lorna has a cat called Milo and enjoys spending time with her two children Maia and Jake and her husband Nathan. She also loves gardening which includes growing her own veg and will take great joy in developing the 'bee friendly' motto of the practice.
